New Years Eve 2004

Went to the hospital to have my nose checked. Clinical diagnosis was allergic rhinitsis. So the doctor use some instrument to open my nose drill and look inside. Ouch! Ok then next, there was this tube that was inserted through my nose drill and there was a lense for the doctor to look through. Sick man! Yucks. Going back next time for skin prick test for allergy. My conclusion is, never have any tube to stick down ur nose or throat, felt bad.

Had a gathering at Gina's house. Me,Gina,Sally,Weiling, Meihui, Rosalind,Xiaoting. As usual, Huixin flew our airplane and Maia was busy. I stayed there till 0530 am playing mahjong and ps2. Sigh no good games to play I thought her brother was a game freak, end up only a few games. Didnt have a good time at the mahjong table also. Only won once and the other players are always winning $3.20 per game. How i wished it was me. Well its ok lah split the losses with Rosalind. Maybe i dragged her down with my not so good luck yesterday.

New York New York

Dad brought me for a Shoulder and Hand massage this morning. It comfortable at the neck portion but painful when he was rubbing my shoulders. The pain was still bearable and abit ticklish.

The thought that passed through my mind. Why is my ambition to be a cabin crew. Because I want to be in the most beautiful places in the world. I want to visit:

New York
Tibet
Bali
Miami
Hawaii

I've been to many places but didnt really like taking photos when I was young and ugly. Missed out on the beach in Hawaii and the Casinos in Las Vegas. But it was great getting to see The Grand Canyon. I'll propose to see the Niagara Falls to my parents. Oh anyway im going to Gold Coast again next Nov.

The Complaining Bitch and the Screaming Bug

I came back from watching Meeting the Fockers and the bug is still screaming! Cant stand it. Shook the branches one by one but I still cant find the bug. I would spray it with insecticide and crush it if I caught it. Hope to release frogs,dragonflies and praying mantis so they can take care of the pest. Oh yeah the movie was funny,but I wasn't really concentrating on what they were saying perhaps coz I was sleepy.

The following scene happened in the food court in Plaza Singapura. I was buying Cheng Tng from the drink stall so the attendant asked if I wanted hot or cold. I asked for a hot one. She prepared it and I asked for a little ice in it. Guess what was her reply? "So troublesome. Don't wana tell me in the first place." Hey what kind of customer service is this? I know its a food court but I don't find adding a little ice for me troublesome. So I ask "It it troublesome? Its just a small thing" She replied "Not troublesome? Just now I asked you,you didn't want to say you wanted it lukewarm". I said " You asked me whether I wanted hot or cold,never asked if I wanted lukewarm" Then she said " There's a long queue then you people so troublesome" Wait a minute there was only one lady behind me and you call it long queue? Stupid China Bitch. If you not happy with working at a food court go be a hooker! This is really outrageous! She's lucky im a gentle rabbit, I should've knocked over her pile of bowls or at least leave the Cheng Tng there without paying. Such bad service!

So tell me am I really that easily bullied? All I can do it accept the bad service and complain to myself? Hope next time I will show the other party some action.

Annoying Insect

Its past midnight now and im still feeling annoyed. There is some kind of insect that has been making a loud noise comming from outside my window. I went out to my garden and tried to track its whereabouts and I closed in on the bamboo trees. Its in the bamboo but its too dark and the plant is too dense for me to see anything. Insecticide does'nt seem to work on it coz I cant pin point the exact location and shaking the tree only shuts it up for awhile. But once it stop I can feel the sense or relief never felt before. I really hope daylight will come and some heroic bird will have the annoying insect for breakfast. As they say, the early bird catches the insect in the bamboo.

Another Day Another CD

Last night I was with Beven,Bon and Gina at The Coffee Club at Somerset. We had a great time chatting and people gazing. I was telling the $70 joke and Bon was doing what he does best, mimicking Malaysian accent. The boys spent the night as my place as it was too late to go home. Didnt sleep till 0530 in the morning coz we were talking and discussing topic ranging from women's disadvantages to current flings. Ha felt I didnt get enough sleep waking up at 11am to listen to Bon's exam results through the phone.

Lunch with them plus Krison and Jeremy. I bought another CD, Disney and Bossanova. Well its only $14 I didnt think it was expensive. But it was the record as I've bought 4 Cds in a week. Felt so extravagant.

Im glad that Singapore is cradled in the arms of peninsular Malaysia and protected by Indonesia thats why we were safe from the tsunamis that were caused by the earthquake. It would have been a bad time to go to Bali or Male.

Christmas Day in Singapore

Went alone to Orchard for shopping today. Have known what I wanted so shopping is a breeze. Got a book and 3 CDs. Took a bus to my Aunt's place later. I loaded the correct service number but in the wrong direction so I kinda went for a merry go round in the bus. After finding out, I disembarked the bus and used my brains to find me another one thats going to the location. Did'nt want to take a cab because of the peak period and holiday surcharge.

At my Aunt's place, it was boring. Exactly like last year thats why I found it boring. Mahjong and Blackjack. The Majong players were slow and kept changing while at Blackjack, my Grandma was always winning. Today she had a $39 bounty. I didnt play for long as I have already won $24 at the Mahjong table last night. If next year's gonna be the same rest assured that I wont be there for long.

The Kid in Me

Im wonder if you people do funny things when your alone, cause I do. I dont know if its normal but I guess it is. I hear my sister doing it sometimes also. What I'll do it pretend that im a toddler and start to mumble things nobody can understand and sing to an imaginary person. Well I only do it when nobody's around lah! If not, they will think im crazy.

Emerging Skin

I have the urge to change the blogskin but then it says all customised html will be deleted. Guess I dont have time to do it tonight. Have to find time this comming friday, X mas eve. Well if im not busy with playing with the PS2 and mahjong.

Im havent been feeling depressed nor gothic so I dont see why I should keep the dark Kelvin look on the blog. Im trying to go for a natural feel. So anticipate the new look! Be good!

Botanical Gardens Tour

I was at the Singapore Botanical Gardens today. Its been sometime since the last time I was there with Vincent and my cousin. This Christmas season, they had different chiristmas trees dressed up by different embassies and the result, wonderful creative trees that I've never ever seen. Well some embassies just cant be bothered and didnt do a nice job. Shall not touch on that.

"On 5 December 2004, 3 abused Shih Tzus and a decomposing carcass of a dog were discovered by one of our volunteers. The carcass was bloated, and was stuck in between a cage and a small platform. There were flies and many maggots crawling all over the decomposing carcass. The living conditions of the dogs were horrendous as the whole place was filled with faeces and urine which have been there for ages. There was only one pathetic bowl of water, which could not have been sufficient for one dog, let alone the four dogs. The bowl was covered with algae and the water was in a horrid greenish colour.

All three dogs were in horrifying condition, particularly the weakest one of the lot which we found sitting in a corner. We had also discovered that all three dogs were partially blind and had lost almost 80% of their fur. There was absolutely no proper shelter for the dogs and no signs of any food. In fact the dogs were found to be scavenging off the carcass of the fourth dog. It was evident that the dogs were neglected as maggots were found crawling out from their anuses and private parts.



The dogs were in such a bad state that the volunteers had initially thought that two dogs were dead because their bodies were in such a gruesome rotting state. Fortunately, they were still alive, but barely breathing. The volunteers then threw three large (400g) cans of dog food and the two dogs immediately started to fight for the food, despite their lack of strength. The weaker dog eventually fell to the floor, breathless and started to gasp for breath.
Eventually, the dogs were rescued and brought back to Mettacats and the weakest dog was sent to the vet. Unfortunately, she died on the 3rd day, despite the vet’s various attempts to save it.
The other 2 dogs are now under the care of Mettacats but require much medical attention. To date, the medical bills have mounted to almost $500 and sponsorships for these 2 dogs will be greatly appreciated.

Dont know which idiots left them there. I cant help but felt a sense of grief when I saw the newspaper article yesterday. Its funny I wont feel such emotions when it happens to a human. Well probably because humans can fight for themselves,but animals cant.

Beetle Invasion

My mum brewed chicken soup today. So I wanted to add an extra ommph in it ,went to find ginseng. When I found the wooden box, it had powder on the surface and I began to suspect something. When I opened it, even worst, full of powder. The ginseng, around 20 roots were infested by beetles. They fed on the ginseng leaving the core behind. The insides were hollow. Such a waste I only eaten 3 roots after we bought it last year. Luckily its only Korean Ginseng, imagine if it were to be thousand year ginseng the beetles would all become immortals. Maybe we are not fated to have such delicacys.

Supper Time

Met up with Maia and Xiaoting for supper. Its very last casual ,confirmed after an sms and a phone call. Glad they can make it. Only true friends would meet up after a tiring day at work. Before that I was at Maia's place waiting for Xiaoting. Her kid is so cute. Fun to play with. But I thought, you would only like him when he's affectionate towards you. What if he does'nt like you? Would be an akward situation for the parent and yourself.

While chatting, I realise many wierd things going on in their lives and lives of those connected to us. Is it really that wierd or is it that my life has been too smooth sailing? Things they say sound so drama and I guess would never happen on me. I miss them much. The whole bunch of secondary school mates. Xiaoting, Rosalind,Gina, Sally,Meihui and Weiling.

Weiling is going to the states to be a chambermaid. Im like "Why is an NTU student going to be a chambermaid in America? Makes no sense." If I were to do something meaningful, it would to build schools or medical centers in Indochina region. So im waiting for the chance to come by.

Wasted Day!

Yeah I wasted my day playing PS2 again. Have to say its addictive. But Im gonna stop after completing X Men legends. I thought I could wrap some presents and write some Christmas cards but I totally neglected them. Well wont be writing cards, coz I cant find those I bought last year and I have a problem wrapping odd shaped items. So I will be putting them in a paper bag and stuff it with textured paper. So thats all for today.

Short Chapter On A Bus

Went for dinner with Krison , the only activity I did today. Other than that, I've been playing with my Sister's PS2 and X Men legends I bought on Saturday.

I had this encounter with an aunty in the bus home. I was asking if bus #3 went to Loyang and the driver did'nt seem to understand me,and gave me crap answers. Then there was this aunty who came and sit next to me. She started a conversation with:

A: "This bus goes to Loyang. Where are you going to?"
K:" Block 150 there"
A:" Who's place are you going to?"
K:" Im going back home. I normally take 21 but then not sure if number 3 goes to Pasir Ris also"
A:" Number 21 very long then come. Im rushing for time thats why I take number 3. Going home to watch star awards"

So the conversation goes on and on, from her son to what am I doing currently and which camp im in. A conversation lets you feel some humanity wheres in a normal situation you would stare at the commuter opposite you and think "Where the fuck is this person going to and what background does he come from".Well its always better to have someone talking to you in a bus ride.

@ Indah and Reno's Wedding

Just got back from Indah's Wedding reception. And thats the pavillion you see there. Would be prefect for me if it was some balinese style pavillon. Everything was kinda rushed and its juz a simple dinner of bryani or nasi ayam. Not alot of tables but them I dont know why we did'nt got a chance to take good photos. I wish them a great life as a husband and wife! So who's wedding am I gonna attend next? I hope its a chinese wedding because I miss the FOOD!

Mr Graves Great Day at Sea!

Went kayaking with Bon today at Kallang. Used NUS kayaks, free of charge. It was a great day, the clouds were heavy and blocked out all the sun. Great day in my context. Here are some photos we tooked. Ha yeah the hat is funny but I got to wear it to protect myself from sunburnt face again.









After kayaking, we were shopping at Suntec City. I bought a present for Charles since hes always been giving me presents on occasions. And a card for Indah who's going to be married tomorrow. Well the shopping trip, nothing much, much spending but well its the giving season right? Came back around 10 and bought a Ramly burger at the Pasar Malam in Pasir Ris. Its pretty good, pity the beef issn't juicy or I would be hooked.

Alcoholic Saturday Part I

Jing Rui and Gina in my car. Was bored in the traffic jam in Orchard Road so I took my camera out and start clicking away. Its been sometime since Ive taken photos. We were on our way to Harry's Bar at the Esplanade,thought for awhile where to go finally decided after some time thinking in Macdonalds.






See my stiff face, I think I was abit tipsy I could'nt control my facial muscles thus that frozen smile. Stupid! Haha! So there we were drinking cocktails. The green room was bitter,because of the lime content in it. JR's order Still got the Blues was the best. Little taste of alcohol and sweet. Gina ordered Lychee Martini anyway, common drink lar,might as well go Zouk drink rite.
